Around the world, 38% of cancer surgeries have been cancelled due to pandemic.

We’re in unchartered waters for delivering cancer care due to the pandemic with virtually every aspect of cancer care and research heavily impacted. It’s undoubtedly a grave time for oncology patients across the globe, and there is an essential need for understanding the challenges and being able to identify solutions which can be shared to help get cancer services back on track, quickly.

Never has the pace of change been more rapid.

Around the world, 38% of cancer surgeries have been cancelled due to pandemic. Also, in the UK alone, it is estimated that there are 2,300 undiagnosed cancer cases each week, and this figure could double by this time next year.

Healthcare professionals have continued to innovate to try and mitigate some of this disruption with alternative treatments; certain hospitals being used as designated ‘covid free cancer hubs’; and the use of technology - which has been spurred on during the pandemic.

Regulators are highly supportive of anything that can increase standards of patient safety, and these dynamics have created strong incentives for pharmaceutical company executives to look for technology solutions.

Many life science software companies are reporting a flurry of interest from pharmaceutical companies who are now reviewing new technologies.
